This beautiful little lamp is in excellent condition with no damage.
The underside of the base is clearly stamped with the Soholm backstamp along with the MP mark for the designer of the lamp, Maria Philippi.
Made on the island of Bornholm in Denmark the beautiful base features a glaze of beautiful deep blue that has dark brown accents. The neck of the lamp is unglazed, showing the natural colour and texture of the stoneware beneath.
We have matched this lamp with an authentic folded Danish shade that clips on to the light globe. The shade is covered in a fabric with a finely woven golden straw colour that matches the stoneware colour beautifully. The fabric is has a slight sheen due to its finely woven nature, but is not a satin fabric. There are a few small 'bubbles' where the fabric has not adhered to the backing as shown in photos. This is only on one side and can be turned to the back, but is really not noticeable unless under close scrutiny. If desired, a plain white pleated PVC shade can be substituted for the coloured shade. The lamp has been rewired with a new cord and fitting to be compliant with Australian safety standards. It has been safety tested and tagged.
The pottery base measures 14cm tall to the base of the fitting and 12cm in diameter at the base. The total height including shade is 29cm.
The lovely piece would be ideal for a side-table or shelf.
