This beautiful lamp is in excellent condition with no damage.
The piece is marked Soholm Stentoj Denmark with the design number 3003. It was designed by Einar Johansen. He was a Danish ceramist who work for Soholm until 1968. The piece is also stamped X indicating a hand finished process and/or specific glaze batch. The 3003 series featured signature Mid Century Glazes.
Made in Denmark the base features a coarsely grogged stoneware with a rich glossy umber and caramel hares fur glaze to the body with a a halo of pooled turquoise at the collar.
Due to the artisanal, reactive nature of Soholm glazes, the vibrant blue pooling on this specific piece makes it a unique variant of Einars Johanses's classic model 3003.
The lamp has the original Danish fitting and has been completed with a vintage cream fabric covered PVC pleated Danish shade. The shade clips onto the bulb. The fitting takes a standard E27 screw globe. All wiring has been redone and it has been safety tested and tagged for Australian and New Zealand Standards.
The pottery base measures 250mm tall to the top of the ceramic. The total height including shade is just over 450mm. The lamp has a switch to the bulb fitting.
The lamp would be ideal for a side table or sideboard.
For International sales ( does not include New Zealand) the cord will be cut short for new wiring to be installed by your electrician.
