This is an opportunity to own a beautiful trio of Art Deco vases in wonderful condition.
Made by Hjorth Pottery on the Isle of Bornholm, Denmark, the pieces are hand painted with an abstract scene. The clay has been fired at a very high temperature and the finish is a beautiful semi-matte silky slip glaze. This natural clay finish is over-layed with the hand painted design.
All three pieces are marked to the underside with L Hjorth Bornholm. The pieces would date to the 1920's. They have an interesting mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau elements to the design.
The three vases measure as follows...
The largest vase measures 20cm high and 9.5cm in diameter at the base and 15cm in diameter at the widest point.
The middle vase measures 15cm high and 8.5cm in diameter at the base and 11cm in diameter at the widest point.
The smallest vase measures 13.5cm high and in 6cm in diameter at the base and 8.5vm in diameter at the widest point.
Please note, the vases are slightly different in shape and design, but contain the same aesthetic so have been grouped together for sale.
