This interesting piece is in very good condition. It is a rare design and not one we can find elsewhere.
There are others on the net which date to the 1950's but this has an earlier hand inscribed mark to the underside of the base which we would date to around 1930.
Made by Hjorth Pottery on the Isle of Bornholm, Denmark the piece is made from the distinctive dense grey ceramic and glazed with an ox blood design of a duck like bird to the front.
There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are no rubs or stains. The piece does have crazing through out the glaze as can be seen.
The piece is 150mm tall and 115mm x 80mm.
