This beautiful light was designed by Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors, Sweden, in partnership with lighting company Lyfa and is called Fagerlund. The design can be seen at danish-lights.com.
The light is simply beautiful and the crystal clear, bright and heavy refracting the light well. The thick crystal shade sits suspended, hovering over a round brass backing plate that reflects the light. The resultant light spills out onto the ceiling or the wall upon which the light is mounted. The crystal has no colour although it does appear amber in the photos it is actually clear and gives a soft yellow glow with warm light globes.
The piece has been rewired to Australian Standards and will come with a length of cord ready for hard wiring by your electrician. The backing plate has screw holes for mounting. The light takes 6 E14 Edison screw bulbs readily available at supermarkets. We have used LED candle globes. Globes are replaced by easily unscrewing the flat cover plate at the underside of the crystal. You will need an extra pair of hands as the crystal is heavy!
It can be seen that there are chips around the mounting hole- these are production chips which have all been fire polished smooth so will not cut. There are a few scuffs to the inner raised circle design from storage. The middle brass cover plate and locating button are tarnished and have a a few faint marks but as can be seen presents well. The backing brass mount is painted to the edges as can be seen.
The crystal is around 330mm across and 160mm deep.
