This pretty spoon is in very good condition.
This spoon is marked Stieff Sterling to the back of the handle. This spoon belonged to my Aunt who lived in the US in the early 1950's. They left to come back to Australia in 1957.
The spoon is engraved to the back of the handle Stonesifers Baltimore MD. 1955. Stonesifers in Baltimore would refer to the Stonesifer family, a prominent name in Baltimore. It may have been an award or a prize but we are only guessing.
The spoon is called a pea spoon with its pierced bowl for straining. In fact it could be used for serving all sorts of things.
The spoon has fine scratches from use, there are no dents or deep scratches. The spoon is 200mm long and weighs 96.7gms.
