Designed for Royal Copenhagen Faience (Art Pottery) by Beth Breyen this dish is part of the Tenera range. It features a gorgeous stylised apple motif that is also often referred to as a butterfly in blue and purple glaze. The colours are beautiful and the piece is in excellent condition. This piece is clearly marked with the Royal Copenhagen Aluminia backstamp for pieces made between 1903 and 1969. It is also marked with the artist mark for Beth Breyen.
Faience is a traditional form of tin-glazed ceramics... in this instance used for this beautiful range of art pottery known as 'Tenera'.
There is some slight crazing due to age, mostly noticed on the reverse side. There are no chips or cracks, the piece is in very good condition.
The bowl or dish is 230mm across and 40mm tall.
