Designed by Marianne Stark for Michael Andersen & Sons Pottery on the isle of Bornholm, Denmark, this large bowl or platter has a glaze called the Persia Glaze. The crackle effect covers the entire face with the colour of the glaze shifting from pale to dark grey within each cell with the tinge of red to the edges. The blue design creates a wonderful contrast. This would make a great display piece and a very functional fruit bowl.
The bowl is marked to the back with the impressed three herring mark of the pottery and is also stamped Denmark. In addition it retains its original label.
The bowl is large and measures 420mm x 140mm x 40mm tall.
