This interesting vase was designed by Fin Alvar Aalto and has become an iconic design. A series of these vases was presented at the world fair in 1936 where it won first prize.
It is still produced by Iittala today in various colours and sizes. However this size in white opal is n longer produced.
This particular piece has white glass to the outside and inside sandwiching a layer of clear glass to the centre. The underside of the base is acid etched ALVAR AALTO.
There is no damage to this piece. No chips. There are lights scuffs and scratches to the underside from use.
The vase is 160mm tall and 205mm across.
