This elegant setting was designed by Henning Seidelin for Frigast Denmark. Henning Seidelin was a prominent famous Danish designer who studied at the Royal Danish Academy from 1917-1936. He began his career as a sculptor but soon turned to industrial design. His work encompassed many mediums and products range from silverware, cutlery, home-wares, lighting, furniture and ceramics. As with many Danish designers their skill ranges over many fields in their life time. Among others Henning designed for Georg Jensen, Hans Hansen, Frigast/Gense, Le Klint and Royal Copenhagen.

The setting is called Savoy and was first designed in the early 1950's. It has a sleek glossy pattern with fine lines and elegant curves to the handles.

The set is silver plated and comprises a setting for 4 people. There are 4 dinner knives with serrated blades, 4 dinner forks, 4 entree forks, 4 soup spoons, 4 dessert spoons. There are 20 pieces.

There is no silver plate loss although there are many light scuffs and scratches from use. The knife blades have some fine dark spots here and the and the stainless steel has many fine scratches giving the blades a satin appearance. The serrations to the blades are half worn from use. One knife has a small dent to the handle.

Although well used the set has not been abused and presents well.

We have many other sets of Danish cutlery in store.
