This beautiful strand is in very good condition.
The pearls are fresh water pearls that have naturally occurred in the irregular shape that looks like grains of rice. The pearls are large for this type of pearl and quite irregular in shape with pearly lumps and dimples throughout the strand.
The strand has some age to it and we would date it to around 1960.
The pearls are between 7mm -12mm long and secures with a gilded silver clasp. From the style of clasp and marking indicates to us that the strand is most likely Japanese.
There is no damage to this strand and the thread is strong and secure.
The pearl necklace is 420mm long.
