This interesting pair was designed by famous Danish poet and inventor Piet Hein and each is marked to the edge of the handle ABSA the silver plate trade mark used by the Copenhagen spoon factory Amager.
The pieces were designed as drinks coolers and have a liquid filled bulb which is placed in the freezer until ready for use. This enables the drink to be cooled without diluting it with ice.
The coolers are silver plated and are in really good condition with only very light scuffing around the widest part of the bulb. There is no corrosion and no plating loss.
The coolers are 160mm long and measure 33mm across the bulb.
