This vase is in very good condition with no damage. The piece was designed for Soholm pottery by Artist Noomi Backhausen on the isle of Bornholm, Denmark. We are confident it is from Noomi's Cactus range.
The base is well marked for Soholm to the underside and is a factory first. It is also stamped handmade. This is a rare shape and we cannot find another of this size or proportion. It is a practical size for a planter and would suit many indoor plants.
The base has a richly textured finish with glaze in blue, grey, brown and green with a leaf design motif to both front and back. The hand made nature of this piece is very evident and appealing and the marks made by throwing on pottery wheel are a feature.
This lovely piece would be ideal for a side table or sideboard.
The vase is 210mm tall, 105mm across the base with a top opening of 88mm.
