This beautiful Australian piece is in very good condition. The shells that make up this head band are small and are two different types.
The shells are threaded on a nylon thread through a tiny drilled hole in the same manner as the necklaces are made, and sewn onto a woven grass band. There is some age to the piece but it is not an antique as the woven grass is still supple not brittle.
The head band was acquired with other bracelets using Maireener shells so we assume this piece is also Tasmanian.
The band is 20mm wide and 520mm in total length.
