This stunning pair is in very good condition.
The earrings are a known design by Jorma Laine, a Finnish Silversmith who is seen by many as the most unique and interesting of all Nordic Jewellery designers. He was a recluse and spent most of his life in a cabin deep in the woods of Finland. He drew his inspiration from nature and Nordic Myths. He designed fro Turin Hopea and Kultateollisuus-Ky as well as his own workshop Silver-Laine.
The earrings are nicely marked to the backs with the mark for Kultateollisuus-Ky, the date letter Q7 for 1969, the crown mark and Finland. There is also a number 18 which we think may be the pattern number.
This particular pair of earrings has a design that we have seen on rings and brooches. This is the only pair of earrings we have seen in this design.
The earrings originally came with screw back fittings which we have photographed. We exchanged them for sterling silver shepherd hooks. These could easily be reverted to the original fittings if so desired. They will be included with the earrings and are shown in the last two photos.
The earrings are 20mm x 20mm with a 20mm drop from the hooks.
