Designed by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen & Sons Pottery on the isle of Bornholm, Denmark, this large bowl features a gorgeous vibrant blue glaze.
The bowl is hand thrown and well marked to the underside with MS for Marianne Starck and has the three herring mark of Michael Andersen & Sons pottery on the island of Bornholm Denmark.
it also has the production number 6277.
There is small pock mark to the underside of the rim as shown which looks to us like a firing fault. Sometimes glaze drips to the sheet or trivet the pot is placed on in the kiln and when fired the glaze breaks away as the pot is removed. This leaves a characteristic deep pock mark as this one is.
Apart from this small fault the bowl presents beautifully. The glaze is rich and vibrant.
The bowl is 230mm across and stands 85mm tall. The rim is 10mm thick.
