This lovely Art glass bowl was made by Japanese born artist Setsuko Ogishi who moved to Australia in 1981. It is signed M.O 1991 as shown.
She studied as a painter at the Kanazawa School of Arts in Japan and under a Japanese/Australian Arts Grant studied glass blowing at the Jam Factory in Adelaide.
In 1987 she and her husband, Yutaka Mizuno, moved to New South Wales and set up a studio in Wollumbi and later started the Ogishi Arts Centre in the Hunter Valley.
This pretty piece is a combination of many pastel colours with an applied blue rim. Setsuko's pieces are all unique and hand blown.
There is no damage to this piece and it measures 290mm across.
