This intriguing ring is rather brutalistic in design and features 18 carat white gold, a solid opal and seed pearls. Our jeweller has cleaned the ring and indicated it was hand made and a bespoke piece. He has checked the piece and although there is a tiny fissure or join to the setting of the opal the stone is secure. This can be seen to the middle base of opal.
The opal is solid as can be seen with some light passing through the stone to the back of the setting. It is not a triplet or a doublet. The cabochon opal is mainly blue in colour with flashes of bright green. The seed pearls are all present.
It is 18ct white gold and marked 18K to the inside of the band.
The ring measures an Australian size L or US 5 3/4.
The band measures 7mm wide at the back, and the front is 22mm x15mm.
The heavy ring weighs a 15 grams.
