This beautiful vase was designed by Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal.
It forms part of The Magic Fute or "Die Zauberflöte" in German.
This particular piece is in the rare colour combination of blue and white.
The beautiful raised 'parianware' style ceramic top has an ornate raised design. There were quite a number of designs made by Wiinblad to represent the story and different characters within it.
This one is of 'Pamina' the daughter of the Queen of the Night and the subject of Tamino's affection.
To the base of the piece, in Wiinblad's gold writing is the reference to the act and aria upon which the design is based. The Aria by Paminia referenced is Act 2, 18th Scene, "Ach ich fühl's, es ist verschwunden". (Oh, I feel it, it is gone.)
The piece is in very good to excellent condition. There are a few very small insignificant scratches to the blue glazed area. There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
The vase measures 18cm tall and approximately 7.5cm in diameter at the widest point.
