This impressive original painting is signed E Thorbjorn to the bottom right. Einar Thorbjorn (sometimes also referred by his birth name as Evelyn Boje Thorbjorn) was born in the very early 20th century and spent some years in Greenland where many of the topics for his paintings were found. Lyndon B Johnston purchased two of his paintings in 1963 when he was vice president to the United States of America.
This particular painting is simply titled Gronland and features a scene of a fishing boat taking off from its mooring. The light in the painting is quite amazing.
We have had the painting re-framed with a charcoal coloured timber frame to compliment the painting and give it a modern edge.
The framed piece measures 1004mm x 745mm.
