This beautiful Danish teaspoon is well signed FKH 830S and F Kastor Hansen.
This is a rarity as any piece by this silversmith is very hard to find. Frederick Kastor Hansen (1871-1918) was known more his Art Nouveau jewellery and ran a workshop from around 1908. His work was characterized by Danish Art Nouveau style and was of exceptionally high quality.
This particular spoon is made from thick silver with a hand beaten bowl and a simple elegant design to the handle. The form of the bowl is well defined with very little usage marks. The handle has very fine longitudinal scratching from what we think is polishing and a fine cross indented line to the handle tip, which is difficult to see.
The back of the handle is fine dot engraved with K E V.
The teaspoon 145mm long and weighs 23gms.
