This brooch or pendant is marked for Mexico and has the ornate eagle assay mark used from 1948-1955 with an 83 to the centre. There were only two known silver smiths who used this number and they had initials EME and EMS. We cannot identify them any more than this. It is also stamped 925 for sterling silver.
We rarely see this era of eagle mark as it was only in use for a relatively short period.
It is a solid piece of silver with a decorative Aztec calendar to the front. There is a roll over flat clasp and sprung pin. There is also a loop so the piece can double as a pendant.
There is no damage nor any repairs.
The pendant or brooch is 34mm across.
