This lovely piece features sterling silver inset with turquoise chips and a polished silver naive motif of a woman carrying a baby on her back.
The brooch has a long pin with a roll over safety catch. There is also a loop to the top so the piece can be worn as a pendant.
The back is stamped Sterling 925 and what looks like Peru. The turquoise mosaic is made up of mixed pale stones. There are pits in the turquoise from when it was made.
The brooch is 28mm x 40mm.
