This piece was created by Conny Walther in her own studio. Conny Walther began her career working at Saxbo, leaving to study at the Arts & Crafts School in Copenhagen. She graduated in 1951 as a ceramicist and began working at Kahler Ceramics before opening her own studio at Birkerod. She was heavily influenced by Japanese Art and this is shown in her finely made narrow neck bottles and artistic glazes. Please see below to view more of her pieces.
Conny Walther Own Studio pieces
This piece is in excellent condition and shows no faults. It is impressed with the CW monogram to the underside of the base. The glaze is thick and combines with an oxide decoration to create a pleasing effect. The glaze is in sage green tones, black and metallic red, a combination we find very appealing.
The vase is 170mm tall and measures 110mm across and 15mm across the rim.
