This gorgeous and unique stoneware vase is a vintage piece from Denmark.

The large vase was made by Danish artist Helle Allpass (1932-2000) who not only created unique art pottery but as many like her in Denmark, dabbled in glassware as well.

She created a few unique pieces for Holmegaard Glass works when participating gin their experimental glass blowing studio.  She is best known for her ceramics.

Sadly Helle developed Parkinson's Disease and took her own life in 2000.

The vase is substantial and is ideal for displaying large blooms like proteas and banksias.

It has a wide mouth and was hand thrown on a wheel. The glaze is very glossy with metallic sheen in places.

There is one minute flake to the glaze on the rim shown by the biro nib. It is tiny, not generally seen and hard to find.

The vase is 180mm across the base and 190mm across the rim. It stands 280mm tall.

We have a range of vintage pottery in store you may wish to look at.
