This piece of vintage jewellery is in lovely condition.
The necklace features a festoon design set with natural moonstones. Necklace like this were made around 1920 in Egypt. My grandmother had one that was very similar in its original box.
Each moon stone is different in size and shape and set so the overall effect is one of unity. Some have inclusions and others are really clear. This particular necklace was broken and we have had our jeweller replace two missing links to the front. They are slightly larger and shinier than the originals but are strong and secure. They are alongside the central stone. The sterling silver chain secures with a sterling silver bolt ring closure.
The moonstone section is 95mm long and drops 30mm in the centre.
The necklace is 400mm long.
