This strikingly modernistic sterling silver necklace defies its age. Though created during the Art Deco period, its clean lines and simple geometry give it a timeless, contemporary feel. It remains in excellent antique condition.
The central feature is a beautifully polished circular agate stone securely set in a closed back setting. The elegant centr piece is seamless;y integrated with a fine sterling silver chain attached to either end, creating a sleek drape on the neckline.
The piece is stamped to the back Hjorth for P Hjorth active in Horsens, Denmark (1893-1937) and 925S for sterling purity.
The necklace secures at the back with a modern parrot clasp which we believe is a replacement as it is not strictly in keeping with the age of the piece. However it is neatly and securely soldered in place and functions perfectly, offering a secure and reliable closure.
The total necklace length 450mm long. The central agate section is 45mm from chain end to end and the agate circle is 21mm across.
