This beautiful piece of Venetian glass would date to the first half of the 20th Century.
A superbly detailed miniature tumbler or vase, it features the intricate and unique Venetian glass technique of 'Zanfirico', a technique where a fine network of glass canes have been twisted together to form a delicate lattice pattern.
The design is one recognized to be that of Salviati & Co
This particular piece also features turquoise blue glass stripes and white ribbons, twisted with copper adventurine. Around the base are raspberry prunts.
It is a superb piece of craftmanship, executed with beautiful precision and detail.
The concave base of the vase has an unpolished rough pontil mark.
There is a slight roughness to the top of the piece where the white ribbons and copper meet the rim.
The piece measures 55cm tall x 50mm across the rim and is in excellent condition with no damage.
