This beautiful antique clasp features a classic Victorian motif of clasped hands with ruffled lace at the wrists. It was the clasp of a woven hair bracelet or necklace. The rolled gold ends to which the woven hair was attached are still present.
The clasp has a sprung push in tab which secures neatly. The colour of the rolled gold is a lovely rose gold. There is some wear to the high spots of the lace on tab end which present as darker spots.
The clasp presents beautifully and would be a special touch to an antique bracelet or necklace that has either lost its clasp or has a broken clasp.
We have left the ends intact but these could be easily removed as there are jump rings between the ends and the clasp.
The clasp is 28mm long x 10mm wide. With the two ends the piece measures 40mm long.
