This lovely antique pendant is made from New Zealand Jade or Greenstone and set in 9ct gold. It is known as Pounamu by the Maori.
The pendant has a 9ct pale rose gold setting with a silver ring to the top. The chain is also silver. The pendant is an antique and has a lot of usage marks as can be seen with the surface having a soft sheen. It would once have been highly polished, glossy and smooth. The pedant setting has no markings but has tested as 9ct gold. It may have started life as a watch chain fob and since been attached to the chain at a later time.
The piece has a masculinity to it and we would assume it had once belong to a man.
The solid silver chain is a finely crafted with each link being a double soldered link. Each join is invisibly soldered closed. There is no marking to the chain and we guarantee it to be high grade silver, most likely sterling. The chain secures with a more modern bolt ring closure which is stamped sterling.
The pendant is 38mm long not including the ring to the top. It is 14mm wide at the base and 6mm thick at the base.
The chain is 640mm long.
