This piece of antique jewellery is in beautiful condition. It has simplicity of style which enhances the beautiful jade centre piece.

The brooch or lace pin is set with a large cabochon of what we are confident is jade. The stone is in a closed setting. The setting for the stone is white gold in colour and stamped 18ct. The pin section is stamped 15ct and Pt for 15ct gold and platinum. To the front of the bar is a layer of platinum over the 15ct rose gold. This canbe clearly seen in the last photo. From the front the piece is all white in colour and only when it is turned can the yellow gold be seen.

The clasp is a safety pin type which was the first safety catch type to be used and dates to around 1920. The use of 15ct was fazed out in the early 1930's so this piece is relatively easy to date to the 1920's.

There is no damage to the brooch. The stone is very fine and highly polished.

The brooch weighs 4.9gms and measures 50mm long. The centre jade stone is 15mm across.
