This beautiful piece is in lovely condition. The brooch is a true vintage piece and marked 14K.
The pearls in this brooch simply glow, they are just lovely. They are cultured Akoya pearls and are beautiful.
The brooch has 14 pearls, ranging in size from 5mm - 7mm across. The hinge is a riveted type and the clasp is a trombone example with a little tab to allow more easy opening. Trombone clasps were used up to around 1940. This is an old brooch.
In addition to the clasp there is also an attached silver safety chain and pin. This has been added after and soldered to the underside. The solder is grey and the chain and pin darkened with tarnish.
There is no damage to the piece and no repairs. There is no nacre loss to the pearls.
The brooch is large and measures 60mm long and 28mm wide. It weighs 8.8gms.
