This lovely cutlery setting is in very good used condition. First released in 1948 the vintage set is silver plated and was produced by Oneida Community, American fine silverware manufacturers since 1848. This is a quality setting which, when originally purchased, came with a life time guarantee.
The setting has been used but well cared for. It has fine scratches from use but presents beautifully.
The elegant pattern is called Morning Star and was inspired by a delicate jade carving. The carving is depicted midway down the handle with horizontal banding to highlight the design. The knives have hollow handles and stainless blades.
There are 6 dinner knives, 6 entree knives, 6 steak knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons, 2 table spoons and 6 teaspoons. There are 50 pieces.
The trade-mark Oneida Community double plating to the backs of the spoons and forks ensures there are many years of use and wear in this setting. There are fine scratches from use and minor plating loss to the backs of the fork tines only.
The steak knives are later additions to this setting comprise 2 different sizes, 3 smaller knives and 3 longer knives all with finely serrated blades.
