This beautiful sterling silver piece is genuine vintage and marked for the maker with an anvil mark for Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Turku. Elis Kauppi started his own workshop in 1945 at the age of 24. His modernist and innovative designs soon became noticed worldwide and he won several International awards. The marks 925S and the anvil are both visible to the soldered ring to the top of the pendant. The marks are faint as they are worn. We know from other pendants in the same design with fuller markings that this piece was designed in 1964.

It is an impressive pendant with a central sphere design. The vintage sterling silver anchor link chain secures with a new sterling silver bolt ring closure as the original was broken.

There is no damage the piece presents beautifully. We can see that the chain has been repaired in a couple of places and the links soldered so that there are three rigid links in a row.

The pendant is 45mm long x 30mm including the bale.  The chain is 710mm long. The pendant and chain weigh 30.4gms in total.
