This beautiful marcasite brooch is in the form of a swallow in flight. It is marked to the side of the pin Sterling Germany. It is a well defined swallow in flight with bead set marcasite stones. This means the marcasites are set using tiny pieces of silver lifted from the setting up and over the stones to hold them in place like little claws.
The silver brooch has good patina and presents beautifully. There are no missing stones, although we can see one cracked stone. We have left it as is as is it held securely in place.
There was a roll over safety catch but the inner roll over part is missing. The pin has been tensioned so that it fits snuggly under the clasp. The brooch is priced accordingly.
The brooch is 32mm x 24mm.
