This beautiful ring is stamped 'sterling' to the inside of the band.
The setting has pretty filigree design with a bow to each shoulder of the band.
The ring is set with a cabochon which we think is either chalcedony or chrysoprase. The stone is semi translucent.
The setting is enamelled around the edges in green and black. The ring is similar to those produced during the Ottoman Empire. Although there is age to the ring we cannot say for sure this is where it is from.
There is no damage to the enamel although there is one small part where it can be seen that the enamel has 'crawled' when it was fired exposing the silver beneath.
The green gem stone has small nicks and scratches from use and age but appears glossy and smooth in normal viewing.
The band is 2mm wide at the centre back. The front of the ring is 25mm x 16mm.
The ring measures as a I 1/2.
