This pretty brooch is in very good condition.
The brooch is stamped with a tiny assay pictorial mark of a boar's head. This is the small assay for French Silver with a silver content of 800 parts per thousand. As with most hallmarked French items the makers mark is separate from the assay mark. It took me a while to find it on the opposing side.
It is in the shape of a diamond with the letters CF around a central shape. This is for Charles Forgelot active 1901-1928. This brooch is around 100 years old.
It is finely made with intricate tooling and an open work lacy design.
It has a French Trombone clasp which also helps to date the brooch prior to 1950.
There is no damage to the piece and no missing stones.
The brooch is 48mm long x 24mm wide.
