This lovely lamp lamp would date to the 1962-1964 when Mari Philippi designed for Soholm Keramics in Denmark.

The piece is signed for Soholm Bornholm Denmark and marked Stentoj for stoneware. It also has the hand incised MP for Mari Philippi.

The lamp is hand thrown on a pottery wheel and hand decorated. It is from the rare series that combines the raw textured stoneware to the top and the glazed lower section with deeply impressed designs.

The lower portion features repeating impressed triangular shapes deeply pressed into the clay before firing. The rich glaze pools inside the relief grooves as a pale blue, highlighting the three dimensional depth of pattern.

There is no damage to the lamp.

The lamp has been rewired to Australian & New Zealand Standards and safety tagged. It has a new black cord with in line switch.

The lamp is 210mm to the top of the ceramic and around 400mm to the top of the shade. It is around 100mm across the base.

We have paired the lamp with an original Danish pleated shade.
