This pretty piece was made in the Royal Copenhagen Factory in 1954.
It was designed by Christian Thomsen in 1907. The "Mischievous Pan" series perfectly captures that early 20th-century Scandinavian "Skønvirke" (Art Nouveau) spirit—where mythology meets the magic of the forest.
It is hand painted using the famous under glaze technique, giving it those soft, ethereal grey and tan hues Royal Copenhagen are so famous for.
The figurine is stamped to the underside of the base with the Royal Copenhagen backstamp and the three wavy lines. There is a line under the L in Royal indicating a manufacturing date of 1954.
The piece is a factory first. Having said this we note there is a fine brush stroke of darker glaze across the reigns.
The figure is 100mm tall x 90mm long x 60mm.
