This canteen was made to house a set of cutlery. It was made to suit either 6 or 8 person settings.

The canteen is made from a wood and has a flocked grey lining.

The timber is in very good condition with only minor scuffs to the timber at the edges. This is a quality piece having timber to the underside of the base as well.

The flocking is in good condition with a few rub  and impression marks. I can see a few holes as well to the base of where the spoons and forks sit as photographed. I only noticed this when photographing so these are hidden to some degree.

The canteen was made by Mc Phersons Homewares in Victoria. They made cutlery canteens which were then branded by the cutlery companies who bought them. They were used by Rodd, Oneida (Rogers) and Grosvenor.

The canteen will suit all Rodd, Grosvenor, Rogers and Oneida patterns. This particular canteen originally housed a Rogers (by Oneida)  Martinique setting as shown by the label.

There is a place for all place settings, dinner knives and forks, entree knives and forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons and teaspoons.

The canteen is 470mm long x 300mm deep x 70mm tall.
