We are thrilled to present the highly sought after Kengu Lounge chair, a defining piece of mid century Modern design by master Norwegian designer Oddvin Rykken for esteemed manufacturer Rybo Rykken & Co.
Dating from the 1960's this chair embodies the core principles of Scandinavian modernism: functional elegance, ergonomic design and superior craftsmanship.
The chair features a distinctive S shaped bentwood frame in stained beech which gives a cantilevered bounce hence the chairs name 'Kangaroo' or Kengu.
The original dark brown buttoned leather is high quality and attached to the slung base by studs. All parts of this chair is in very good condition, the frame and the leather and the slug supportive base.
The only fault we can find is very fine splits to the inside of the top rail where there is a screw fitting as shown.
We have two identical chairs both in lovely condition.
The chairs are 770mm tall x 720mm deep and 640mm wide.
