This piece was designed by Einar Johansen for Soholm pottery on the isle of Bornholm Denmark.
The vase is part of the Blue Series, one of the most popular ranges produced by Soholm in the 1960's. Although there is not much blue evident when you look closely you can see the mix of colours. As these pieces are all hand made and hand glazed each is unique.
It is marked with the Soholm imprint to the base and also signed with the EJ mark for Einar Johansen and the vase pattern number of 3114. It has a fish scale pattern and the glaze which is a combination of blue and brown creates a sage green colour with fine hares foot patterning with streaks of blue to the neck.
The vase is in excellent condition and has no faults. It is a factory first.
The piece stands 140mm tall and measures 150mm across the belly. The top is 70mm across the opening.
