This beautiful bracelet is in lovely condition. The bracelet features holly leaf and berry links alternating with a little ringing bell.
The bracelet is tamped to the underside of one of the holly leaves with 925, Mexico and the eagle mark is also present with the number 3 inside for Taxco. The makers mark is only partially present but the flamboyant R is evident co-joined with what looks like an A.
The makers mark is most likely that of Plateria Rancho Alegro first set up in 1956 by Pedro Perez, a one time shop manager at William Spratling's Taller de Las Delicias. One of the marks for this silver workshop is a co joined RA.
This particular holly and bell bracelet is different from others we have seen made by another Mexican silver smith; Damaso Gallegos, in that the holly leaves all face the same way. There are 8 holly leaves each with 3 berries and there are 7 little bells.
There is no damage to the bracelet although the bells are a little irregular around the bases.
The bracelet is 185mm long each holly leaf panel is 18mm x 12mm across. The bells are 12mm long. There is the added security of a safety chain.
