This beautiful pair is in lovely condition. It is Japanese and features the ancient craft of Damascene, the process of hammering inlays of pure gold, silver and copper into a very finely grooved steel backing which is then etched to created a black background.
The back is backed with an ornamental gold plated panel. The precious metals in this piece are pure silver and gold. The front of each is marked k24 indicating the gold used in this piece is pure gold or 24 carat gold.
The earrings are full of colour. The panels show no wear, darkening or corrosion. There is some light tarnish to the silver inlay. The panels are simply beautiful and feature Mt Fuji as a prominent feature.
The earrings have been attached to brand new 14ct gold lined hooks replacing the old screw fittings.
The back of the earrings shows some dulling to the gold plating.
The earrings are 16mm x 17mm.
