This beautiful bracelet is in very good condition. It is Japanese and features the ancient craft of Damascene, the process of hammering inlays of gold silver and copper into a very finely grooved steel backing which is then etched to created a black background.
The panels are then backed with an ornamental gold plated panel which has been bright cut with their own designs. The panels are joined with gold plated linking rings to form the bracelet. Each panel is different depicting motifs of Japanese importance three of which include Mt Fuji. The piece is marked Amita Japan to the back. Amita Jewellery made Damascene using 24ct gold and 950 Silver hammered into the steel backing. Sometimes copper was also used to give a third colour.
The bracelet is full of colour and the gold plating is bright and reflective. There is some light wear to the gold plating to the joining rings and to the back showing the silver of the metal beneath.
The bracelet is 170mm long and each panel is 28mm x 10mm.
