This vintage decanter was designed by Bent Woldstrup in collaboration with Michael Bang for Holmegaard Glassworks, Denmark, in 1973.
The series was produced to recreate the glass ware produced by the glassworks in Christianhavn in the 17th century. The decanter is hand blown and hand made in the same form as was produced so many centuries ago. The stopper and neck are not ground and the stopper rests in the neck.
The piece is signed to the underside HG3 for 1973.
There is no damage to the piece. There is no etching or clouding to the crystal. The decanter appears unused. There is a very small open bubble to the edge of the base of the stopper.
The decanter measures 170mm tall including the stopper. It holds 360mls.
The decanter comes in its original box as shown and retains its Holmegaard sticker. The box is a little tatty.
