This elegant piece is in good condition.
The ring is hallmarked to the outside of the back of the band with marks we can't quite decipher. What is evident is the 835 silver assay mark. There were only 3 countries that used this assay being Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
There is what we presume to be a makers mark that has the letter J beneath a criss cross design.
The ring is quite ornate with and amethyst to the centre rimmed in gold within a setting of marcasites.
We can see a small rounded chunk out of the band at the back along side the silver stamping as shown.
Due to the age of the ring there is some wear to the detail of the design at the shoulders. In spite of this the ring still presents very well.
The face measures 13mm x 10mm across the marcasite section. The rounded band is just under 2mm wide at the back. The ring is a size U.
