This gorgeous pair of baby birds comes from the Hjorth Pottery Works on the island of Bornholm, Denmark.
They were designed by Lauritz Hjorth and would date to around 1930. The underside of the base is stamped LHjorth, 547 for the design and lastly the pottery mark of the stag figurine.
They are heavy stoneware and glazed in a soft blue with dark oxide patterning.
There is no damage to this lovely piece.
The figurine is 50mm tall x 78mm across.
