This beautiful Danish design Ambrosius cutlery or flatware set is in very good condition. The design is elegant and features a simple design with elegantly shaped handles.
It was designed for Cohr Silver Denmark and is one of their long standing designs. It is marked for Cohr with the name ATLA, the brand name for their silver plate.
The set is complete for 16 people with extras and consists of 16 rare hollow handled dinner knives, 16 dinner forks, 16 large Continental soup spoons or table spoons, 16 dessert spoons and 16 teaspoons. There is a minimum of 80 pieces. The knives have stainless steel blades which as can be seen are clear and reflective. The knives are difficult to source and we have at times bought them from Denmark to supplement sets at a cost of $40-$50 each.
There are a few extra pieces which consist of 2 extra knives, 2 extra dessert spoons 2 extra soup spoons ans a single teaspoon. The spoons have a few more scratches than the other pieces but we would still say they are in very good condition.
There is no silver plate loss and no bubbling or corrosion to the plating. There are a few fine scratches from use, mainly to the backs of the fork tines. The plating is reflective and shiny. The blades are well seated and show no movement.
This is a high quality, beautiful setting in lovely condition.
