This lovely bracelet is set with 4 large cabochons of amber, all with inclusions as can be seen.
The inside of the clasp is marked 830S and E F. The E F is finely printed and would be one of 2 Danish designers, Einar Fiberg 1905-1937 or H Ellegaard Fredriksen 1948-1958. From the style of the bracelet and the fold over clasp we are going with the latter.
The bracelet has some age to it and the amber is a deep rich colour and has fine almost crazing type marks over the surface. This helps to authenticate it as this type of patina cannot be manufactured. There are some scuffs and little indents to the amber as well, shown in close up detail. It is possible to have these polished out but we prefer to offer amber in its pre loved and pre owned condition. The general appearance of the amber is smooth with a deep sheen. A polish would remove this lovely lustre and create a very glossy as new surface.
The silver setting is robust and in very good condition. The bracelet has a fold over locking clasp which secures well. There are two eyelets for a safety chain, which is no longer present.
The bracelet is 190mm long and each amber set link is 45mm x23mm. The size of the amber cabochons makes this an impressive piece.
